Several types of fluorocarbon monitors are available, including those based on thermal conductivity, hot wire, pyrolyzer, flame ionization, and infrared technology. Infrared monitors are highly recommended because of their long economical life, accuracy, and portability. Any monitor must be calibrated for the specific cleaning agent being monitored.
