Yes, you can recycle Vertrel®.
In the old days of fluorinated and chlorinated solvents, may companies developed a thriving business in reclaiming solvents. They would pick up your exhausted solvent, distill it and purify it, and then re-sell it at a reduced cost. This was an excellent program because it allowed companies to re-use solvents that would otherwise have been disposed of.
Today's Vertrel® works exactly the same way, except that fewer companies have yet invested in stills and reclaiming systems for the solvent. Over time, we fully expect more and more companies will jump on this bandwagon because it's agreat service and there are decent profits to be made.
As an aside, remember that every vapor degreaser is a destillation unit, and it automatically recycles and reclaims the solvent while it is operating. Under normal conditions, most systems are cleaned quarterly, and so the amount of "exhausted" solvent which needs to be reclaimed is much smaller than in prior times, when machines were not as tight as they are today.
If you need the name of a company that offers a solvent reclamation service, contact Micro Care.
