There are so many types and "flavors" of Vertrel® that the choices can seem overwhelming. But it's really fairly simple. There are four main applications and four main solvent choices:
Defluxing
- The first choice for defluxing must be MicroCare CMS. The cleaner works great, is generally plastic-safe and is extremely versatile. Other options: Vertrel® CHD which is the "big gun" for precision defluxing; Vertrel® SMT which is a little more expensive; and Vertrel® XMS Plus is optimized for use in high-performance vacuum systems. These are all great choices for electronics.
Degreasing
- For degreasing, nothing beats the cost-effective performance of MicroCare CCA which is tailored to remove organic contamination. Other choices: Vertrel® CHD is a superior degreaser; and Vertrel® MCA Plus is optimized for use in low-emission vacuum cleaning systems.
Drying
- For optics and other drying applications, Vertrel® XP10 absorbs the water, disolves residual ionics and delivers fast, reliable, consistent cleaning. Another great choice is Vertrel® XDA, which includes a surfactant.
Particulate Removal
- To remove ionically-bonded particulate, finings and other non-soluble debris, Vertrel® XP and Vertrel® XM are two great choices.
